Welcome

Greetings Readers,

Since I assume most of my readers will be fellow students in the Provincial Instructor’s Diploma Program at VCC, (with the exception of my mother, of course), I will also assume that you know that this blog is one of my assignments for the Foundations of Adult Education course.  As I journey through the course, this blog will explore the fundamentals of learning, as well as my experiences with education in the field of horticulture as well as other programs.

I haven’t written a blog in several years, but while setting this up I decided to stick to using the Blogger platform because I had a positive experience with it.  The interesting part of this story was that when I logged into my profile, I found a blog that I wrote in 2009 about Sustainable Landscapes.  The funny thing is: I don’t remember writing it!  However, in my defense, it was twelve years ago.

After I spent a few minutes browsing my posts, I realized that my entries still have some relevance in this concerning age of climate change.  With topics such as water management, soil quality, and Canadian environmental legislation, there may be some interesting information for garden enthusiasts.  If I were to write a post today, I would have to include the plight of our native pollinators, such as the honeybee in this photo (right).  In case I have successfully peaked your interest, here is the link to My Sustainable Landscape.

Stay tuned for my upcoming entry on the trends and top concerns in the horticulture sector.
